Privacy

Usher collects no data about you. The developer has no servers that the app talks to, and never sees your Plex account, your library or what you watch. This page explains what the app keeps on your Mac and which services it connects to.

Who Usher talks to

Usher connects to Plex and to your own servers. It also talks to Trakt, only if you connect a Trakt account.

When your server is away from home, Plex may route that connection through its own relay. Plex's privacy policy covers what Plex does with that traffic.

What stays on your Mac

Signing out removes your token and keeps your downloads, which you can delete from the Downloads page. Deleting the app removes everything.

What Usher doesn't have

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no third-party code that reports on you. Nothing is sold or shared, because nothing is collected.

Buying Usher

Apple handles the free trial and the unlock through the Mac App Store. Usher asks the App Store only whether this Apple Account has either one. The developer receives sales totals from Apple and no details about who you are.

Children

Usher doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. Plex Home profiles with restrictions keep the limits set on your Plex account.

Changes

If Usher ever starts handling data differently, this page will say so before the update that does it, with a new date at the top.
